Sun through mist

Today the sun was shining through the winter mist while I was on a trail with my dog (she is a little camera shy)

When good neural networks go bad

I recently found this silly aberration in some otherwise lovely fall leaves! This is from Apple’s Portrait mode, which uses a neural network to add bokeh after an image has been taken, and while it generally does an okay job, here it has blurred out several chunks of stem and missed a large portion of the background between two leaves.

Big and little things

I love spring here in Seattle because of all the lush green things growing, especially when they grow really suddenly, there can be a big divide in the size of similar flowers or leaves.
